I learned that you cant turn a 340 into from beam to bow into the wind in 30 - gusting to 40mph winds without some help from the rudders -- at least mine.
Went out Sunday, we wanted to spend the night on the boat - but had to "pump the pooper" first. Wind was ugly, but looked at it as a learning experience.
Yes, did some learning about the boat. Had to back out to the basin to turn finally, then make a run into the wind to a finger pier. Worked out ok. Learned alot about how much difference the winter canvas ( with the side curtains up, everything enclosed except the back ) behaves in a stiff wind.
All in all - very productive afternoon. No hard bumps, after the turn around in the basin, slid right up and settled over.
Guess the best news is - boating in February....
