I have a 2007 310 Sundancer V-Drive and love the boat! I would love more width and room for entertainment purposes. Seems like the 370 fits the bill for me but not sure if it worth the expense. I was wondering if anyone out there could give your opinion. I have heard the boat could be a little thirsty but wanted to know if the newer models are a little easier on gas. Any information you have for me would be great.

Thank you!

Size matters. Well kinda... actually it really depends on the power options. The bigger the engine the less you burn. If 8.1 or 8.2 then go for it. Any thing less works harder to get up on plane and stay on plane. My 410 has 8.1s and avg burn is .7 mpg. The 370 is a little lighter so I'll guess the same 8.1 or 8.2 the burn rate will be near .8 to .9 mpg at 20 knots. Darn good for gas!

Below is my burn rate (very similar to 38):

I keep telling my wife it matters too! Thank you for your input. That does help me verify the charts are accurate. It does have 8.2's in her.

How do you use the boat?? Spend a lot of time overnighting or just day cruising?

Some folks say "buy your second boat first" but perhaps in your case you should make sure you buy your third boat second. Push up into the 40'+ range and there are some interesting features that may/may not be missing on the 370's.

Your 8.2's might be more efficient than my 8.1's. My 350 is the same as a 2010-16 370 DA (37.5' OAL). With DTS and bow thruster it is the easiest boat I have ever docked. I am 41.5 feet LOA with huge swim platform. I averaged .88 GPH for the season. Do the 38 and 40's offer that much more? I don't think so. I think once you get into the 40's you need to find diesels. I've been told that one advantage of the 38+ DA's is the stringers are all glass. I'd verify that. That being said I have no moisture issues in the bilge.

I would really agree with this.. A quick search looks like a 2016 370 is going to by low to mid 300k.

For the same money you can have a hell of a nice 40-44 sundancer with diesels in the 2007-2008 range.

This is significant more boat especially if you do overnight stays.
