I have a 2006, 280 SeaRay Sundancer that I have just installed underwater lights. I have run the wire to under the helm and cannot figure out the best way to incorporate the hook-up to use a button on the control pad, IE ACC #2? Any advice on hooking the wire up?
Thanks

If they are LED, which they should be, you can wire them directly to the switch so long as the amp draw is minimal. Although - I have mine (4 of them) wired to a relay in the engine compartment bulkhead and that relay is powered by my aft acces switch on my touch pad at the helm, which is pre wired through my aft EIM. The hot wire that is supplying the power to the relay is also fused. Allows for minimal draw on the expensive touch pad.

Just as an FYI... the touch Pad does not carry the current. There is a relay (not sure of the current rating) in the EIM that switches the load. The Pad sends a signal to the EIM as to which button was pressed. There are 4 wires going to the Pad(s)... 2 data, ground, and +12V. Very similar to a CAN bus.

Thanks for all the feedback! Awesome SeaRay family.. What I ended up doing was locating the Duetch Connector panel under the main helm and piggybacked with an additional Deutch Connector to one of the buttons on the fwd panel. Works great! Now when I turn on the back deck LED light, my underwater blue LED's turn on also. LED's are not pulling much at all on the power side. Beautiful at night. I just have to be sure to only use when in the water to protect the U/W LED's, temp wise.
Thank all for the input!!
