Comparison 28,30 +34 Sundancer models?

If you want to go fast go small
If you want comfort go big
Our 28 footer worked well when we were working because we had 2 to 3 weeks of go time. We went 24 knots and burnt a liter a minute 15GPH. Pritty cheep running compared to the 38 footer that will burn 44GPH at 22 Knots (At 6 knots we burn 6 GPH) if you do not add any accesories. We put 100 hours on the 28 footer and now put 300 on the 38 footer a year. Now we have 3+ months so fast is not important.

Ok I've narrowed my search to the 34-38 ft range. Looks like unless I run across the rare diesel version I'll be into a gas boat. My main reason is to extend our 3 month season to 4. And still be able to enjoy it in the rain that's usually every other weekend LOL. I have run into quite a few that have storm damage and are fixer uppers, but I'm steering clear for sure.

The 330 is the same spec as the 340. Don't be afraid to venture the entire east coast. Transport is cheap if you find the right boat. Within a few hundred miles, you can bring her on her own bottom. I just found two 330/340 in northern VA in minutes that are asking for $$$ in your bracket. Who knows what final selling price will be.

Good luck.

Sounds good Dave,

I'll bring my search down to the 33-38 range. I'm searching pretty much from Maine to SC for a range. Whats your fav seach site? I've been using Boats dot com and a few dealers sites mainly.

i just Googled sea ray for sale and clicked on the first no-pay (below the hilited) site. It was boat trader dot com. Depending on what you want to spend to run, there are some beautiful mid 80's 47's out there that are yacht like inside. They are gonna cost you to go though.

47' is just a touch out of the realm, for now :) a 20ft to a 47ft cant imagine it LOL I would have to live on it!

Sleeping 4 people, I would deff go at least a 300DA, and if storing in water go w/a 310 and up with inboards, not outdrives JMHO

Yeah definetly inboards, she will be slipped April to Oct.

Sleeping 4 depending on the age if you are talking about children they grow! I would go with a 330 or a 340. I prefer The helm of the 340 bolster and standing room. But you have to pay attention to the 340 with horizon motors for water ingestion. The 330s with 7.4s are pretty solid on the mechanicals and the hurth transmissions are nice.

Best of luck in your search, we are all here to offer opinions whether they help or confuse you is a whole other matter!
