getting ready to buy a 370 or a poss 38' ?' trying to stay under 100g's and not sure which boat to get -what were some of the bigger updates between 96 and 98 besides the taller radar arch and were there other big model changes w/in those years - should i say away from anything in particular? Was there a big difference in the 38 or 39?

With out getting into every year and model of what you are looking for, let's keep it simple. For your $100K cap the most boat for the money will most likely be the 380 Sundancer and probably a 1999 to 2000 model year for that price, You'll pick up the most beam and room with it. They don't count the swim platform and bow pulpit on those model years so in fact it really is 41' LOA. I had an older 370 and that was a great boat too but the 380 is longer, wider, roomier and heavier. The 7.4L gas motors are sufficient and you will be able to cruise at 23 MPH at about 3,500RPMs burning about 28 GPH. When you refer to the 39 you must mean the late 80's early 90's model which is a great book too and will be half of what you want to spend but you'll have to make sure it's been maintained or restored properly .Just my 2 cents, I'm sure others will jump in to help.

Check the specs and you will see the differences in the 370 and the 380. The 380 (1999-2003) has more than enough headroom for most below, and in the cockpit. There are lots of 380's selling now for under $100K. If you get one with the 8.1L, Smartcraft will be a nice feature as well. Also, the 8.1s have a bit more torque.

Great information from both - thx!!! - i did just see online 2- 1999 38s for $105gs - they look great! wife loved the full ref. were definitely going to go look at them.

We're seeing a lot of 96-98 370's from $69-79g's which is enticing - for the 370 was there any significant changes between 96 and 98 - we heard the 98 has a taller radar arch and thats about it ? was there any common problems in this years - seams like a very very popular boat here in mi
