Colored HULL Satisfaction request- doesnt anyone love them?

For me, since I was not buying new, it was a nice find. I don't think the color added anything to the market value of my boat before I bought it but it really made for a nice deal for me. Honestly, I would have to really think about it before I paid the extra for the colored hull on a new boat, on a used boat, another story.... More to a boat than the color on the outside !!

I have a friend of mine that has a 04 28 foot Four Winds with a green hull. Well it is starting to look pretty bad and every season he tries to bring it back with no results. Well I could not take it anymore. I stopped by his boat on Saturday as he was taking off the shrink wrap, and told him “let’s try something here”. I got my Marquis “Cleaner / Wax” bottle out and did a small area on the starboard side, after that I hit the same area with my 3M “swirl and scratch” remover, and then I follow up with the good stuff, the Starbite Premium polish with PTEF. Well you should have seen the look it brought back.

The area I did also had a good size scratch in it. For that I used a more aggressive rubbing compound and got most of it out. I know I can get it out completely with some gentle wet sanding, followed by the cleaner and the Starbrite.

He was so pleased with the results in got out a piece of paper and wrote down the products and the order I used them.

For those who say the colored hulls are “extra work”, I say maybe…. but even a white hull and turn ugly without care.
