Does anyone have some pics of their optional cockpit TV on their sport crusier? The one that slides into place on the wet bar. I'm having some customer audio/video work done and I want mine to look just like the optional one that can be added when purchased new. It was not an option on the 260, but I believe it was available on the 310 and up.
Thanks.

Heres a pic of the mount from an 08 330 DA. Hope it helps. SB

I just put a 15" polaroid with DVD player on my 240 and used the mount below.

I mounted one base in the cabin and one in the cockpit. the tv mounts to the articulated arm portion and it slides into the base unit which is fixed. then when you want to move from inside to out side push the tab on the top and slide the whole unit up and out. Slide it in at the cockpit and plug in.

the brackets are made of aluminum so corosion should not be a big issue.

Home Depo has them for $30 on line.

I need to take some picture of the install cause it's pretty sweet.

Hello Tom,

Do you know what brand the TV mount is?
Maybe I can get it in the Netherlands also.

Thanks Peter

I use three of these mounts for my home PC (purchased at Sam's Club). They work great. I suggest "through bolting" if you install this is fiberglass though. Especially if you have wakes or bounces in your future while the tv is installed.

Guys, what's your preffered or best rated TV for cockpit installation?

Thanks,
Alex.

Search this topic. I have listed 4, and others have listed a couple more good choices.

John,

Do you remember what thread was this discussed at?

I just added mine this past season on the aft deck and this application won't work for all, but I removed the drink holder next to my aft deck sink and with a minor adaptor ($20) I contacted my local SeaRay dealer and got their aft deck flat panel TV holder...
It kinda fits into a fish rod holder..... don't remember what I paid and as a boat owner my poor memory is a plus.....

Mark, can you post pictures of your TV and holder? Which tv model did you picked?

Thx,
Alex.

Don,

Nice setup. From what I see, you've used two parts to mount the tv, the horisontal and vertical bars. Where did you get the angled bar with tv mount? Also, I see the antenna hook up, but where do you plug it vor 120v, under the sink? Do you take the tv off when you underway and also leaving the boat for some time?

Thx,
Alex.

Alex........Thanks....... I got the s/s TV mounting bracket on e-Bay. It needed to be modified a bit......which I did with a local s/s welder.

The clamp on the bimni support tube is a standard 1" hinged clamp....and yes I use the 110v outlet .... by the wetbar.

The mounting bracket is held on by one bolt ....thru the hindged clamp .....and into the mounting bracket. It only takes a few seconds to remove and store below .... when I'm under way.

I also had a cover made out of some matching sunbrella .....that I use when I leave the TV out at night.

Skeetobite;

the bracket kit comes with a couple of long reinforcement bars which I used as backing braces in the transit mount inside the cabin. Being that I'm in a small 240DA. the ride can get a little wet out in the BAY. on the cockpit mount it's thru-bolted with stanless steel screws and big backing washer's along with a dab of 5200 for the Stay put factor.

I'll tray to get out on the boat later today and take some pictures.

Alex, I don't have any pictures....yet. I'll get a few posted soon. The two parts I purchased from Lake Union Sea Ray (Seattle, WA) are the vertical pole with TV bracket and the pole holder that mounted into my wet bar counter top. SeaRay is using this setup on TV installs on their new boats (aft deck). I went with a 19" Sharp from Coscto with DVD built in. I do put it below while underway.... Not that I think it will get wet, I just don't like the idea of it causing my counter top to flex with the weight of it at the end on the 18" pole it's mounted on... Wife made a nice black vinyl cover (matches black canvas) and I got a SeaRay iron on decal from my dealer and ironed it on the front. (turned out great)

I went with the same set-up as "Thebillcollector" did above, I ordered from my SeaRay dealer the mounting bracket and pole. It is nice quality stainless steel (it should be I paid $220 for it) with a socket/base mounting plate. It looks great installed just forward of my cockpit sink and is high enough so as to let me still use my sink when you lift the cover on it's gas assist. Went with the Sharp ultra-thin 19" tv (Costco $349). I can't believe how much we use it. I hardly ever go down in the cabin now to have the TV on as I can have it on in the cockpit. I also tied it into one of my Direct TV recievers so I can use that remote as well and I have the suround sound hooked into my Clarion Cockpit stereo which ties into my Bose down below thru the AUX input, sounds great. As a matter of fact-I will watch the Wings win the Stanley Cup on it tonight!

I can attest it does look great, and enjoyed watching the game on your beautiful boat! GO WINGS!:smt038

Nice install. How much does that mounting arm sag when the set is on it? I've seen various postings online being critical of that brand mount and wonder how it's working for you.
