Does anyone know the dimensions of the molded plastic cockpit table on the 1999 - 2000 400 Sundancer? It is the one that stores under the engine hatch.

I am having a teak table made to replace the molded plastic one and unfortunately my boat is stored and shrink wrapped and it is a hour + drive from my house. I emailed Sea Ray and they sent back an email stating that they do not have dimensions of the "molds" that they use?????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steve,
I don't know specifically but working on the assumption of use of common parts, I do know a couple of the table dimensions. The round plastic one that was common on the 2xx models is 22" in diameter.

I also know because I made a Teak grate table for friends who have an 07 320, that the rectangular one, that double as a cushion support for the 'cockpit berth' is 17.5 x 31" with a radiusd corner.

Rob,

While waiting for Steve's pictures. This is the table I made for our friend's 320 (ottoman not included).

I know what your talking about. If you are planning on storing the table then it needs to be the exact size so that it will fit in the storage tracks. Our boat is shrinkwrapped also but closer. I will try to get ya a measurement as long as the batteries are still good enought to lift the engine hatch! I always wanted a seperate table base so that the table could be moved instead of "right in the way" of boarding on the starboard side.

Rob,

Making a larger table is really not that difficult. I know something like the grates that I made are, but the top can be anything, and the hardware is standardized. When I decided to increase the size of our 280's table I started with a piece of polyurethaned plywood. This got trimmed down a couple of times until we had a size that was large enough to serve a meal on, and small enough to not be in the way.

If you want a larger table start by taping a piece of cardboard to the top of the existing table. This will allow you to test the dimensions and determine if there is enough room to sit down and sit comfortably. After that it is easy to find someone to make a table top.

Very nice. I noticed that SR has a $3,800 option for highly polished teak cockpit table. The solid tops should be easy to make as compared to the grate style. Are you taking orders?

Woody,

Are you goshin me? $ 3800 for a teak table! Yikes I'm in the wrong business. Do you mean the simple rectangular one, or the newer ones that have the odd shaped fold up leaf?

Actually the table in the picture has a material cost of about $ 400 as teak has gotten really nasty ($ 27 per BF) and it is twice as thick as it "needs" to be as a table to match the SR OEM table. A solid table would have a lower cost as it actually takes about 25% more wood to make the grate (because of the overlapping joints) and obviously less labor. I didn't post the picture to drum up business as woodworking is a hobby that keeps me sane in the winter.

I hadn't thought of making them for sale, but given the price of the 'competition' I probably should re-think. PM if you are serious and we can chat.

I saw them listed as options for the 40DA and 44DA. I didn't find a picture so not sure what they look like. I'm not looking for one. I don't fit when the storage rack is in the ER so I removed it and do without the use of the table. When I saw the one you made I thought you might actually have a hobby that could pay for itself. Alot of potential customers here at CSR. Again, the table looks great.
