cockpit table for 40/390

^^^^ Looks great! Looking forward to some pix after you apply your finish to your new Teak table.

After much research I've decided to go back to my original plan of, two coats of West Systems two part epoxy (105 resin, and 207 hardener), and two coats of #2015 Pettit 1-Spar Captains Varnish with UV protection, and one coat of #1015 Pettit Flagship Varnish that offers a harder finish and a higher gloss than the #2015. Pix to follow.

The Semco sealer arrived and I put on two coats yesterday. I followed the Marineteak video instructions (which said to apply with a cloth) vs the can instructions (which said to apply with a brush). I was happy with the results. I put on two coats back to back.

Today I did the water bead test ... and the water beaded on the surface without soaking into the wood or leaving a stain / mark. So looks like it is good. Will also be good to make sure there are no rings left from people setting cold cans or bottles on the table.

Table looks great, looking forward to seeing how the Semco sealer holds up.

My order of Semco sealer showed up yesterday but, I already started going down a different path last week.

Just a heads up. Their website says to put on 3-4 coats for the first time.

Here is what happened to my table. I wasn’t happy with the raw teak and decided to experiment with art epoxy... it stayed really nice for 3 months in the house....within 20 minutes on the boat in the sun It pulled away from the rubber
I haven’t decided what I am going to replace it with but it won’t be teak and rubber for sure

Hit that with sand paper and a power sander and take it back to teak. Just use the sealer and you will be happy. I apply the Semco sealer to mine every 3 months and it stays like new.

That epoxy isn't worth the effort ..it was an experiment... That table was ordered to abandon ship by my wife last year.... It has no hope of being reinstated.... No matter what you do to it... This is what it looked like before the sun blew it up

I wasn't able to locate a Sea Ray OEM "moveable" table base so, I made my own. I used 1/2" plate steel 20" X 20", and had a friend powder coat it.
