My wife & I both really like the Cleopatra seat/cooler in our cockpit. As we look at the 310 & 330DA we realize that we will have to give up that seat in favor of a fridge/sink.

My question to those of you that have one is;

1.How often do you use it?
2. If there was an option, would you choose something else in its place?

We have a cockpit sink and use it pretty frequently to wash hands and rinse stuff. It's cold water only on our though.

Well there is your next project!! :grin:

We use our cockpit sink quite often, Mostly for washing the cockpit area and rinsing the cloth. It is just cold water also but makes it nice for cleaning.

Yeah, I installed a "real" faucet that works nicely, but just need to run the hot water tubing to it.

I had one in my 280 WE. You'd be amazed how many times it is nice to just wash your hands. I'm not especially OCD, but you know how every time you handle the lines or canvas you get dirty. As somebody else said, it means less trips to the cabin. Less fingerprints around the door into the cabin, too.

I like having the cockpit sink, but that seams to be unanimous with the above mentioned comments.

On my 330, I have a cockpit freezer, not a refrigerator. I use the freezer for cocktail ice. Unfortunately, the freezer only works off shorepower, not battery power. Ideally, I would have a ac/dc refrigerator.

1. We use the sink frequently. As others have mentioned, it adds great deal of convenience.

2. We had similar seating on port side in our 240DA and admiral loved it. It was her spot. In order to please her with this requirement (and of course due to other reasons) we skipped 310 and went with 320DA. Although, it's smaller than what you have and what 240 had, but it still in high demand by my crew. With guests on board my wife sits there with her friend facing the helm. Other times she's got competition with our little guy who found that's it' svery comfortable to sleep there while we on a long cruise. This picture was taken after we just finished over 2hrs run in the ocean and arrived to a place to drop the hook.

Here you can see how the sink is setup with the option on having either cocpit fridge or an ice maker. We'll be installing cockpit fridge for the next season.
