On my 2000 SeaRay 340 Sundancer, there is a sink in the Cockpit. It is a single handle (probably cold water only) faucet feeding into the sink. The manufacturer is shown as Whale. On Sunday, I turned the handle and 2 problems occurred. (1) A washer inside the assembly cracked. As a result, it would no longer create a water tight seal and would not allow me to turn off the water coming out of the faucet. I turned off the circuit breaker which stopped the pump and that stopped the water flow. (2) When I removed the round clear plastic handle from the top of the faucet top, I accidentally broke the plastic inner stem piece too. This inner stem allows for the water to both flow and also stops it. Now it won’t stop running if the pump is on

The problem gets worse. I cannot find a replacement part for this Whale single handle faucet because the part is so old. I called Whale (manufacturer) and they say they don’t have any anymore. I called MarineMax and they say that there is a replacement update by a manufacturer called Scandvik (part # 1718686). FP Marine shows a picture of this part. But it is a different manufacturer and I suspect the Scandvik parts won’t fit a Whale faucet

If I buy this replacement faucet, I will (most likely) have to swap out the Whale faucet for the Scandvik faucet. However, I can’t figure out to go gain access to the underneath of the sink/faucet area because access is not easily available. To get to the faucet, I may have to remove the freezer unit in the cockpit that is near the sink just so I can gain access

2 Questions:
1. If anyone knows where to buy original Whale parts please let me know? (this is my preference since it seems easier to fix it this way)

2. If anyone knows how to gain access to the underneath of the sink/faucet, if it ends up that I need to do the faucet swap, please let me know?

ANY suggestions are appreciated

i replaced my old crappy faucet with a cheap cold only folding head faucet. it looks 10 times better and it's brand new. i think it was $0 just had a couple issues with making the metric plumbing fittings fit standard ones. the new faucet wasn't made for a boat but it works perfectly.

I replaced mine with the Scandvik and was pleased, but I had pretty good access. The Scandvik is only 1/4 turn from off to on, nicely chromed, and looks great.

Captain Allen. Thanks.... It appears I may need to remove the freezer near the sink/faucet to gain access...

How did you gain access?

Were you able to find a replacement faucet for the cockpit sink? I have the same problem with my 1999 34 Sundancer

There are links and photos to the sink in faucet I used on my 99 340 in the thread I linked above. Should still work...

You should be able to use almost any cold water facet you like. You can pickup one on Amazon or a local store. Depending on what fittings it comes with you may need some adapters for the supply hoses but the one I got on Amazon worked fine on my 340SDA.
