This is one of those things I've wanted to do for a while now. I finally took the time over the long weekend to install the parts I've had since this winter. The project went almost too easily. The faucet fit the existing fitting without issue and the sink "nearly" fit perfectly into the existing hole. One time around with a jig saw and four drilled holes and we were good to go. For sub $100 I couldn't be happier.

The only complaint I could offer up is that the sink drain size was not as advertised. After buying three "correct" drains I finally had to hole-saw the drain to enlarge it. Not a big deal but it was a tad frustrating.

And I'm still trying to get that blue crap off my vinyl. That came from the plumbing below...and a dirty hand.

Man that looks niiiice! Great upgrade!

looks very nice....

I just opted to leave the original sink but I made a cover for it out of black plexiglass and I replaced the faucet with a stainless steel single lever.....

and I like your black insert on the galley top....I did the same thing...I used a 24" black granite floor tile and had it cut down to fit the top and had the edges rounded.....I used golf club grip tape to fasten it to the top....this tape is very thin but has good holding power....

and i also did the stainless steel latches and stainless steel drink holders.....

I also replaced the useless double drink holder beside the galley with a taller holder I designed made out of black plexiglass and stainless steel spacers which is also large enough to hold a black and stainless steel ice bucket.....the original holder is not tall/deep enough to hold a drink well....the new holder is tall enough to hold a couple bottles of wine instead of drinks if desired.....

these changes really enhance the look of the galley.....

Nice. You've definitely gone to the next level! I am slowly adding some teak pieces around my cockpit. When I replaced my VHF I used teak as a surround. I plan to replace that double drink holder with teak eventually. And then maybe something under my spot light and stereo remote at the helm. New dash panels would be nice also.

I think I just need more money. Or a new boat? ha.

Does the water just splash out like on the original if you turn it on at a normal rate.

We were very happy after performing this same upgrade, and adding hot water to the cockpit sink - see link below:

I should have given you full credit in my original post. I found that sink based on your blog. I really enjoyed reading through your posts. It made me wish I could realistically store my boat on my own property in the off season. Fortunately for my pocket book that's not going to happen!

Thanks for the post. Was looking for a new faucet, and this one seems perfect. Just ordered from your link!

Thanks

I replaced my original white plastic cockpit sink with a stainless one, and replaced the white plastic cockpit faucet with a chrome version of the original which is also made by Scandvik. It's nothing plastic at all. I like the look of the higher goose neck faucet the OP went with but it would have been in an awkward place on my boat. The lower profile one works much better for me.

Hi I am trying to do the same upgrade on my 340. Can you tell me where you found your faucet, sink, and cup holders? I followed the the link in a precious post but the parts were unavailable on amazon. Thanks

Jim

I did cup holders off amazon and a facet but not that one. Also to cheap lazy to do the bowl. Sure looks nice.

I did cut out the old stereo remote in the dash, and now have a stainless cut holder at the helm...

Google Scandvik for the sink. They probably made the original faucet too. I replaced both with their stainless versions.
You can probably use a bar faucet from a big box store, but if you get the part numbers from the Scandvik site and then shop around on the Internet the prices are pretty competitive. I got my stainless Scandvik sink from one source, but actually found the best price for the Scandvik faucet from Walmart.com of all places. Had it delivered to the local store for the free shipping.

I double checked my order history and indeed that sink is not currently available. If you want to stick with Amazon you do have the option to shoot them an email (the seller) and ask if/when they'll have more available. I'd hope they'd let you know what the situation is.

Guys, the sink I bought is stainless and a direct replacement made by Ambassador. I ordered off Amazon and it is no longer there but it is available through many other sites. Ambassador also makes drain options. I bought a chrome single faucet from Home Depot for $20 that looks great and has held up well for the last year. The stainless ones from Scandvik are the way to go for salt water. Biggest pain in the ass was getting the old plastic sink out. I chipped my fiberglass.
