On my 06 340DA noticed today that cockpit refrigerator is not cooling. Green indicator light is on and freezer feels half-way cold but drinks are not. I did not hear or feel the compressor or maybe fan running.
Checked the parts manual but it doesn't specify make or model. It's a Norcold and I think it's a 1.7 cu ft model, but I haven't tried to remove it to see if I can find some more data.
    Anybody know the model number?
A replacement that will fit in the same cut out?
Anyone every replaced a compressor in this model?

Is it deficient on 12 volt only, or both 12volt and 110?

Just got back to the dock a few minutes ago and we had the generator running the whole time and noticed the green indicator light was off and would not come back on either on shore power or when I flipped the DC Refrig breaker from off to on.

Not working now on either. Bad power supply?
I’d think if the compressor was bad you’d still have the green indicator light on showing that there is power going to the fridge.

I replaced my fridge last spring, kind of a pain and had to do some trimming of the cabinet.

Mine has similar cooling issues. I believe mine only operates on 110 though. When on shore power or generator it works, but is so loud it rattles the boat. What have people changed these with? Norcold or just a similar size dorm style fridge?

I stayed with norcold, I like how well the door stays closed, my old cabin fridge would sometimes pop open when I hit a big wake, didn’t want to worry about that in the cockpit. Plus I like the no cutting direct replacement aspect

I found a company online that was charging 100$ less than west marine was, but the shipping was 80$ so I had west marine do a price match, saved the 100$ and they did free shipping to their store so I picked it up couple days later

Spent some time on this today and it appears it works on DC only. When I energize the DC circuits, it comes on and stays cool, but doesn't work either off dock power or generator. Pulled it out of the compartment and fuses ok. Took cover off on AC board and I have voltage there. Here's a photo showing the cover but I haven't been able to cross reference the Part Number. Anybody got any ideas on where to get a replacement board? Refrigerator Board.JPG

Doesn't that suggest a bad power supply? Most fridges are 12 volts only and the power supply accepts AC or DC (with AC as preferential if it is available) and converts to 12 volts in the case of AC. So it sounds like your power supply is not converting when on AC.

Yup. I agree that the AC power supply board is not working. Finding the board is turning into an issue, and the only place I have found it is Fisheries Supply and it is labeled "Special Order." They are not open on the weekends so will check with them next week. I also have a guy that works on small electronics and maybe able to figure out which component(s) are bad and replace those. Or I could just bit the bullet and buy a whole new unit.

Those are the two places that I found as well and both are closed for the weekend. On the top of the frig, there are actually 2 boards - one is AC and the other DC, each under its own cover. I may get back over to the boat this weekend, and take another photo of the AC board.

WJ - the MPS references i referred to relate to stand alone power supplies which are not the type you require.
