Hi all.
When I click the helm switch for the cockpit lights the light on the switch goes on but none of the lights are going on. Then after a few minutes they seem to all go on. Sometimes when I hit the switch they work. It's hit or miss. Any ideas what the issue is?
Thanks for the help

Bad/corrosion on connection between switch and light, most likely connection on switch since it comes on when you hit it (vibrate connection)

I already tried disconnecting the wires from the helm switch and the terminals seemed fine.
It's wierd because when the lights go on they all go on at the same time.

Do you have another switch in the cockpit? I had to replace mine due to corrosion on the terminal block on the back side of the switch.

No there are just one switch for the cockpit lights. There are other switches tho for the nav lights etc..

I'm just guessing here since I don't have EIM on my boat

If it is a EIM setup it is probably the little relay that is involved in that circuit. When you turn switch on it powers and lights the switch and also sends a low wattage signal to the EIM control box which has some sort of relay that then sends the power onto the fixture, relay is probably hanging up and that's causing the delay.

The issue turned out to be the switch. Was corroded in the back. Need to just replace the switch
