I'm in southeast Virginia so the winters are very mild. I put my cockpit cover on the other day and I think I'll just stick with that for winter storage outside this year. I want to be able to easily access the boat also.
When I put the cover on, there were a few snaps that needed replacing. I need to replace a couple male ends on the boat also. I want to buy a Hoover Snap tool and some snaps. I found the tool for $139. Any better deals out there? What's the best place to grab some snaps from also?

Thanks.

Where in VA are you? If your close by you can use my snap tool and I have a ton of snaps, I ordered wrong and have a box full of them.

SailRite is where I get mine

That's a real nice offer. Thanks! I'm about a 1/2 hour north of Williamsburg.

You’re not that far from the house. My home is near West Point. You are more than welcome to barrow mine. It would save you some money. I picked up a commercial tool from Sailrite with all the adaptors. The small ones at West Marine are worthless

I'm right up the street from you then. That's great. Thank you! I was just about to pull the trigger on a Hoover. I'll shoot you a pm for details.

We have sell/rent the tool and the snaps - let me know what you need.

While the ability to borrow one is great, do yourself a favor and get one of your own. You’ll be amazed at how many other things you can do with it.

Thanks Kevin. I'll shoot you a PM. I do want to buy one, but the one offered will get me through for now which is a big help.

Just look out with used ones... if they do not come with all the die sets it can be more expensive than new in the long run.

-Kevin
That's why I didn't buy one of those. For only $40 more I could buy a new one and not worry about missing dies. If I knew they were complete, I wouldn't have minded a used one at all.
