Clueless on how to winterize, point me in right direction?

I have a 99 230 BR and I want to winterize it myself but have no clue where to start...... Could someone point me in the right direction on exactly what to do? I have a 7.4 Merc with EFI.

If you are truly clueless on this I would strongly recommend that you hire a reputable professional and watch him winterize your boat. Ask questions and take notes. It's a much safer bet and it will be easier next year when you just need to confirm a few points rather than get a detailed explanation of every step. It's a very expensive gamble to do yourself if something is missed!

If this is something that you want to learn to do for yourself; then I would suggest -

1. Read every thread you can find on this forum related to winterizing. There is a great deal of information here as many of the folks that contribute are experts with vast experience. This topic has been well covered on this site and you will find each step of the process has been described, discussed & debated in great detail.

2. Get a copy of the mercruiser service manual for your engine. It has step-by-step tutorials on winterizing your engine and outdrive.

Winterizing properly is not difficult with the right tools, guidance and a little patience.
