The closing of the Moore Haven lock on the Okeechobee Waterway will for the third time be delayed until June 11 for the installation of Manatee protection gates. The Cruising community along with local business's put enough pressure on the Corps of Engineers to convince them to delay the closing until the traffic on the waterway is minimal. Estimating re-opening is August 8.
