Never new this forum was here., Never went down past the Maint forum.. Anybody out there boating on ClearLake/ Taylor Lake??? Just Curious

I just put my boat on Clear Lake and I am kinda leary. It came from Lake Travis in Austin so I know the water is not nearly as nice but I really want some destinations and Travis only has so many. I need some advice on where to go around Clear Lake and the bay. ANy help would be nice.

Welcome to ClearLake,,,

It is no comparison from Travis to Clear Lake...
There are a few destinations around here. You failed to mention your size of boat so not sure how far you can go...

Red Fish Island: 20min boat ride from Kemah Channel, accessible w/ bowriders and up..

Galveston Island: 55 min boat ride from Kemah Channel, accessible w/ 24' bowriders and up..

Several restraunts/bars along the shores of ClearLake...
Of course many people tie up to the bulkheads at the kemah boardwalk..

Best place to raft up is in nassau bay... very nice swimming area...

Best wakeboard/tube/ski area: taylor lake and north....

Good Luck

Nassau Bay is across from the South Shore Harbor Channel.
Look at a navagation map and it should be marked. As you head to the clearlake channel from Kemah. Keep in the channel, you will pass the channel to the hilton on your starboard, pass the channel to spothshore harbor on your port, then look for the next set of channel markers on your starbord side. Follow them and they will bend around to nassau bay. Be sure to use the markers. It is very shallow all around there. Once you get in nassau bay the depth gets to 20-10 feet...

Let me know when you be out there, We can try to meet up..
I know we wont be back on the water for a few weeks though. headed to vegas next week then the following weeked we are trailering the boat to lake conroe...

Thanks alot. That's great help. I'll shoot you a PM when we head out again. It may be a while though. :smt089
