Anyone know if a good cleaner for this? Its showing its age and needs a good scrubbing. I was mildly successful with west marine mildew stain remover, bit I'd need 4-5 bottles to get the job done. Its some kind of plastic weave. About 70% blockage ratings. He's anyone tried painting them?

Wife says I should paint some eyes on it like this...

Its Pfiffertex material. I doubt it would take/hold paint. Here are the cleaning instructions. Looks like you could get a couple more years out of it.

Awesome. Thanks.

I was thinking about dawn+bleach. If that didn't work, I was going to get rmr86. Maybe I'll look into marine31 too.

yeah, a little bit. there are different levels of light transmittance that you can get. not exactly sure what mine is, as it came with the boat...but any canvas shop should know and be able to supply samples.

This was on Saturday. We were pointed SW, so we put up the shade for the day to keep the sun from beating in through the windshield. It worked perfectly! Left a few snaps open on the bottom so I could keep the vent open. It was amazing how much cooler it felt throughout the day.

You can kinda see through it in the picture, and by that, I mean...you can make things out (e.g. tree line, people walking around, some boats, et cetera).

Phifertex is available in many colors and also in a regular and plus. The plus is a little more dense weave giving a higher blockage. The regular offer less blockage and more visibility. Its hard to tell from a picture but in person samples make it pretty evident.

here's a before picture. hope to find time this week to clean it.

you can see the staining where the cover meets the windshield and traps moisture. there's also some wear marks from the side grab rails, along with a streak from the windshield wiper that got accidentally turned on while the shade was up. i'll get more before pics while i clean it.

We brought ours home after we found it stowed in our new to us 310. Was dingy with some mildew. The quick/gentle cycle with tide and a little bleach worked great. Air only cycle in the dryer and it still looks great today.

This is just plastic. No glass.

I scrubbed it last night with bleach and dish soap. its cleaner, but still stained. It'll be okay for this year. Just and eye sore.
