Just got an 04 270 Sundeck. Radio removed, but has 2 Clarion remotes installed. They are the oval shape remotes and one fits perfectly in the cockpit hole. The new remotes are mostly round other than the MW3. Does anyone know if the MW3 will fit in the old oval hole for the Clarion remote?

I'd prefer to use the existing remotes, but dont know if they'll work or not and the new stereo units are not compatible with the old remotes (M301RC). Does anyone know how to test the old remotes without a stereo head? Considering just getting the cmd6 and redoing everything but the big issue is the hole in the cockpit dash prolly wont be the right size for the newer remotes. ARRRGGGG!:smt100

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. My old radio is still in the head compartment (not working). I believe the original radio is a single DIN, which is the thickness of the radio portion that is installed in through the fiberglass, and the CDM6 is a double DIN. This would require cutting a larger hole for the opening. As far as the opening for the new remote goes, I was thinking of using some sort of plastic back plate or oversized gasket to cover the gap left by the different shape (oval to round).
I think the only way to find out whether the old remotes would work with the new CDM6 radio is going to be to install the radio first and connect the old remote to it.
The orginal XMD3 radio was probably used on most '04-'05 Sea Rays. How many people have had to replace their original radio? How long did it last? Any advise on replacements?

Just purchased the CMD6. I'm somewhat confused with the installation of the sirius satellite radio and ipod connections. Has anyone upgraded to the CMD6? Any suggestions as to the antenna mount and USB mounts? I have a 2003 280Sundancer.
