Hey guys,

I just bought a new to me 2001 190 BR Signature. It has the Clarion XMD1 and the wired remote. It will not put out any sound and the CD player won't play a disc. It also has an amplifire in it also. Any one have these issues? If I replace the head unit I think I also have to replace the remote. Any suggestions on what to replace it with and what I'm going to need. Again, I'm a newbie here and any info and patience would be appreciated!! Also, where is the fm antenna located on these????
Thanks,
Chris

I checked the fuse and it's good. The amp powers up. If I unhook the rca cables the speakers crackle, this is what lead me to thinking the head unit is bad.....But thanks for the fast reply!!!

mine doesnt turn on at all. i push the power botton and the display is blank zip nothing nada does it need the amplifier to at least turn on the display and what can i buy to replace it? ooh i forgot at least it makes the noise when you push the cd player or the cd changer button

Pedro, isn't there a switch to power on the radio either at the helm or with all of the other electrical controls inside? Pretty sure there is one labled "radio". Double check that.

Did you make sure that the output to the amp is turned on? If you disconnected the battery alot of times the head unit defaults to using the internal amp and speaker wires. If your speakers are only powered through the amp, look up the manual, go through the settings and select rear. You should then hear sound through your amp. This has been covered a bunch of times before, you might just google XMD1 club sea ray and find a more detailed explanation.
