Clarion Wiring harness

Ok, before I go to the boat and get myself all worked up can anyone tell me about the wiring harness on a Clarion XMD1. I have purchased a new CMD5 and it has a 16pin connector. I'm thinking that the XMD1 has a 12 pin but I'm not sure. I also purchased the a C-bus to CENet translator so the 6 disc will communicate with the source unit but the wiring harness is whats got me wondering today.

I upgraded from the xmd2 to the cdm4 and they are the same connector. I was pretty sure they were the same all the way up. The cdm4 has the 16 pin connector.
