Clarion stereo update

Have the Clarion head unit on my 2004 270 sundeck and would like to upgrade.

Has anyone done this and maintained the dash and stern controls?

What unit and what adapters would I need?


I did find the new clarion units that crutchfield has. That looks to be the smartest and quickest option

You will have to get a Clarion to maintain the remotes, and even then make sure they are compatible with the new head units.

Thanks for your response and your welcome.
Just getting back to boating after 25 years. Won't do a lot as our lakes get kind of hard here 4 or 5 months of the year. The used 270 will hopefully fit the bill and was not too expensive

Your existing unit uses a 6-pin remote cable and the new ones use an 8-pin. There are 6 to 8 adapters but even then, the remote is not 100% functional.

Are your existing remotes round, oval or rectangle?

So better to go ahead and get 8 pin wires?
