Clarion Remote - Need help with size

As you may know my boat was moored near a lightning strike and the Electronic Interface Module and the radio were fried. Tonight I got a chance to install the replacement radio and the remote wouldn't work. I guess the remote fried as well.

I have the choice replacing with the same CMRC2 or changing to a CMRC1 which has the display. The problem I might have with the CMRC1 is the size of the unit. I took a look at the manual and I can't tell if it needs a 2" or 3" hole. I would also need to know the diameter of the face to see if it would work on my dash. If you have either of these 2 measurements I would appreciate your response.

probably wont' work then. There is a recessed mounting hole on the 220. I will try and snap a picture. I have 2 manuals on pdf for the CRMC1 and one says 2" and other say 3" hole.

Anyone have diameter of faceplate in case I can make the hole work?

went over to the dealer today and took a look at the remotes. Here are some measurements.

CMRC1 (display) needs a 3" hole. Has a 3.5" diameter face
CMRC2 (no display) needs a 2" hole. Has a 2.25" diameter face
