I've just bought a 2006 280 DA. I have a problem with the stereo, a Clarion with a 6 CD changer. There is no power to the stereo. Checked the fuses and the breaker switch which all seem ok. The remote on the helm controls doesn't work, but it does light up when I turn on the nav lights? The surveyor told me all was OK when he checked it and the boat has been laid up for ages. Any thoughts ? Thanks

did you provide power the stereo using the control pad on the right side of the helm. The button looks like a speaker..

Remove the protective rubber stops that are on the front of the stereo, right and left ends. Behind them you will find four screens holding the radio into the panel, remove them. Carefully pull then radio out being very careful you do not put tension and pull on the cables attached. Behind the radio you will find a 16 pin connector with multiple wires attached. One of them is red and it will have its own fuse. It is a 1 Amp fuse and it provides the power to your radio. This plug can be easily damaged, as I found out when taking my radio out to get to the aux plugs in the back. I actually pulled the red wire out of the socket and it hit the case of the radio and blew the fuse.

Oh yea check the above post first. That is the usual problem, but if that does not work then try the above.

Did you turn on the accessory switch for the stereo at the helm? Both have to be switched on.

The whole accessory panel at the helm is wet. You need to remove the panel, remove the connections and treat with CRC. That's why when you push one button others come on.

I believe the house light breaker needs to be on, then hit the helm switch (speaker icon) on the right side of the dash. TG
