I need to remove the CD changer in my boat in one piece. I put the XMD1, 2002 vintage, on eBay today and sold it in 20 min. The guy wants the CD changer as well. Anybody ever removed one?

Yes, it is mounted at the top. You will need to access it from below to have access to the screw. The rear are pretty easy. The forward one's were less because of the angle. Should only be four screws.

Thanks! Are the screws hidden or readily visible?

Thanks again,
Bennett

They are installed vertical and are visible from below. I don't know what access you have but I needed to remove my DC panel in the 340SDA to gain access.

It is mounted in the top of my AC/DC distribution panel in the salon. The entire panel is hinged at the bottom and folds out when two screws at the top are removed.

Thanks,
Bennett

Thanks Kevin! Very simple with 4-screws and 2 brackets on the backside….

No problem. I also found mine laying around in the basement today. I pulled mine a while back and put a Tiny PC (USFF) in there to handle all my media and streaming TV needs.
