Hi all,

Hope you could help with some basics... I am having some electric problems and wish to rule out fuses and breakers. I have 300DA from 2004, although questions are quite general...

* under the helm, there are circuit breakers. Manually reseting is merely pressing the button? How can you tell if one is broken? Are you supposed to be able to open them?
- do circuit breakers go dead altogether, do you carrry spares of different sizes?
- in order to find relevant spares (fuses as well) , where all should I locate them? Or are they documented somewhere?
- any recommendations on good reads for boat electronics? Just for increasing understanding

Thanks for any help!

Cheers, The Finn

>> these breakers are a 'pop out' style. If they have tripped the post will pop out to the end of the rubber sleeve. To reset it, just push it back in.

>> if you are referring to these breakers, you push them in to reset. I believe that there are some fuse style on your boat, your user guide would tell you and where

>> check your user guide - available on-line at Sea Ray if you don't have the hard copy

Hi and welcome to CRR ... comments below:

Breakers don't typically "go bad"... if you have loose connection on one of their terminals, the heat generated can cause it to go bad. If it trips often from an over current issue elsewhere, it will eventually go bad.

Some breakers can be toggled to the off position. Sea Ray did use some that cannot be toggled off. The ones under my helm seat cannot be toggled off... similar to the ones on your EIM under the helm.
