Hai .

I am a new member so may be I make mistake to put this message here.
I am from Russia \S.Petersburg\ but my boat Sea Ray 420 aft is in Finland and I live partly there.
I bought it in February in USA.
There are 2 CAT 3216 ta.
I am interesting in modernizations of my boat
and I made a lot of them already.

Now I want to install:
1/fuel flow meter for both engines .
2./make diesel chip tunning .

May be somebody has some experience or can give some recommendations about this systems for CATs?

Thank you very match in advance.

Welcome to the board.

you might want to post this in the diesel engine forum. this section is more for the sharing of mods you have made not ones you want to make.

Your engines are mechanical diesels and there are no chips or an ECM you can change. The entire fuel management job is controlled mechanically by design and injector/pump settings. Just so you know, you have one of the best fuel systems ever put on a diesel engine....it is clean burning, efficient, makes lots of power and is essentially trouble free. It would be one of the last things I would try to improve.

Before spend a lot of money on fuel flow instrumentation, Caterpillar publishes very accurate fuel burn tables for their marine engines. I have run 3116's for 14 years and have found the Cat tables accurate enough for normal fuel management. If you have not seen them, tell us the hp rating on your 3126's and I'll look it up for you.
