Field Muesum - next to Solider Field. Another great muesum
Navy Pier - again, i think its over rated
Your a music guy - check out who is playing at Hard Rock and the Vic
Great theater district - check out what is playing

Have fun

Willis Tower - over rated and very $$$

Thanks everyone.

John...your killin' me.......that's almost a BOAT unit!

Quint, bring lots and lots of money. Chicago is a very expensive town, and between parking meters that physically shake you down to the red light cameras nail you for being there, the city has a means and method to spreading the wealth, so to speak. Have a great time though.

I live an hour outside of downtown, so if you lose all your money paying sales tax, feel free to come by. I have a spare bedroom with it's own bath, and I won't even charge you for it.

... if you do not know, parking will cost $50 a day for valet with in-out privileges plus valet tips, I usually tip $3 each way. You may find nearby parking with no in-out privileges for $30 a day. When we go we do not drive after we get to the hotel, we walk or take a taxi. I am much happier not driving in Chicago. MM

I can second the Kinsie Chop house as being good and reasonable. This goes for both you and Wetpaint as far as a really fine restaurant and that would be the Everest Room on top of One Financial Place if you can get a reservation. For entertainment I can recommend the "The Million Dollar Quartet" playing at the Apollo on Lincoln Ave. Fabulous '50s classic music and talented performers.

Quint, we want pictures and what you did.........I am pretty excited to see the city.....People tell me how clean and beautiful it is........

We stayed at the Swiss Hotel a couple years ago, nice place. Found a nice restaurant within walking distance & went inside "McCormick & Schmick". Wife had "something", I had the blackened catfish over green tomatoes. Liked the restaurant so much we went back about a week later. Noticed they had a book of recipes for sale. Looked at it but it didn't have the catfish dish in it.
Once home I e-mailed the chef & he graciously sent me the recipe. One of our favourites.
Take the time to see the Field Museum, you'll need about a week to see it all. The Science Museum has a German WWII sub. on display, U515 I think. Available to walk thru it, very interesting.
Loved Chicago!

Chicago is nice and good but we were in the Napa Valley yesterday for a bit of wine tasting. Started at Quintessa then off to Caymus and wrapped up the private tastings at Chateau Montalena. A great day with great weather so we decided to swing by our favorite winery (Fleury) to see if the owners were in. We missed them but their son was in and gave us a full bottle of their 2008 Howell Mountain BDX, an almost full bottle of their 2007 laren Bryce Canernet and a half bottle of their 2007 Howell Mountain Cabernet just to take to dinner since they were closing and we are regular buyers. Dinner at the Rutherford Grill and stayed at the Embassy Suites in Napa. Not a bad day and only a 45 minute drive!

I have been to what was the Sears tower, The Navy Pier, Industrial museum. The Museum was the best, but too many people whe I went, on a raining weekend in the summer, too many people. Sears tower was cool on at Christmas eve. Just seen the street light panning out of the city. Navy Pier does have a neat Kid's Museum.

Kind of like San Francisco? At least now that the Occupy movement was kicked out and/or arrested...

You should at least take a walk up and down Rush Street, maybe stop for a drink some place if you find one you like and can get in.

I think Cite is one of Chicagos best, romantic, hidden restraunts , Not too many know of it , Ive been there numerous times and have never been disapointed

You guys hit every great place in Chi Town. If the boats are running the Chicago River tour is good. Had Gino's thin crust Chicago meat lovers pizza a couple weeks age. Absolutly killer. I saved half and ate it while driving home the next day. Drive up Lake Shore Drive (LSD) and check out the park if it's not to cold.
