:grin:Replacing my 2006 chevy avalanche with a 2500HD 6.0. Will be picking up my 2006 Sundancer 240 next week. Did not think that the Avalancche with the 5.3 was going to handle the load very well. Maxed out with boat and trailer dry...
Any feedback on the 2011 2500HD 4WD....

I have an '03 Sierra with the 6.0L that I bought new to pull my 29 Formula. The bird was about 11k on the trailer, and the Jimmy pulled it with ease. Love the truck, and the 2011's have even more power. You will not be disappointed. Your 240 will be no match for it.

Yes that will be a nice truck. I tow my 260DA with an '04 2500 HD Chev Silverado with the 6.0L. It does just fine.

I used to tow my 250 DA with my 08 2500 6.0. It handled the job very well. You will be more than happy with the power and stability. I also towed it with a 07 Tahoe and it did pretty damn good for a 1/2 ton. Nice choice for tow vehicle. She will be thirsty. 13 MPG daily driving. My guess is you will get 8-9 towing the 240.

I have a 2010 GMC 2500HD. I love this truck! I will admit that she also loves to stop at every other gas station. I average about 290 miles per tank, or at least that is what my computer tells me at fill up. She could pull my 240 easily if I had a trailer. I have pulled heavier loads without issue. Great truck.

I use my 2010 F450 6.4 liter Diesel, 433 rear end to pull the 320 and well, it does it so well, Glad to hear you got rid of the Avalanche...Now you've got a real truck. Thought you'd need a pic.

You chose wisely. Great truck. In fact, my buddy and I used his '08 2500HD today to move my boat from one marina to my slip.

I use to tow a 12,000lb (or more) work barge with a 2002 2500HD 4WD Crew Cab 6.0L with no problem except for the gas mileage. I traded it in on the same truck but with the Duramax Diesel and Allison tranny. You will have no problem towing the 240DA and will love the truck. I still have the diesel truck and will for many more years.

Just out of curiosity, What kind of gas mileage did you get? the Avalanche was not great on mileage either. Avalance around locally was 14-15 tops with as much as 19-20 on the open road empty. I towed a lighter boat & trailer, maybe 4500lbs total and I averaged 10mpg whle towing.

With the 6.ol gas motor I got maybe 8-9 mpg when towing a heavy load. The 240 isn't near that weight so your mileage should be better.

I have the '07 2500HD Classic. The truck is bullet proof. It tows my 280 SS (with twins) easily, and it plows. The trade off is the fuel. I'm lucky if I get 10 mpg, and it worse on the highway than in the city. In my opinion, it is the best tow vehicle out there.

I have the 4.1 rear end with my 6.0 gasser and in the city I average 11.5. On the highway at 60 mph around 16-17. Push her up to 70 and it drops down to about 13. I had about 2.5 tons of rock in the bed last week and in the city I was getting around 9 mpg.
