Hi all:

I've been shopping around for a mobile detailing service to do hull compounding and waxing and topside waxing.

The rates I've been getting from the company that our marina uses is:

35 foot Searay DA
compound and wax hull
wax and clean top side

Total price: $1180

Seems a bit steep, so I was trying to see what others are paying (have to be licensed to enter boatyard).

Plus, any recommendations on a service provider around Easton or St Michaels MD, or that travels to there.

I think you've doubled posted this question.

In in the DC area and on the Potomac we pay about $21'.
Most marinas will have a list of vendors that have provided the marina with insurance and are able to work at the marina.

Does your quote include haul out and blocking? If it does, that price is a little high, but not unheard of. If that price is for on the water it sounds a bit high.

A 40' boat out here, in the water, costs about $20 per foot for a great job. Compound, polish and wax. I do mine myself because I am challenged I guess...

Ok, first I would think it would depend on your boat. Pricing a cleaning job is impossible without seeing the boat. Then add the haul out, stands. Ours gets hauled and bottom cleaned for $300. but all detailing is based on the condition of the boat

Our marina quoted $50/ft. for a compounding and wax; plus material and haul-out it would have been about $1600 for my 25' Dancer... bought the Dewalt DWP849X and I'm gonna do it myself!

Thanks all:

I found a couple were in the $21-23 range. This included hull, top side, cockpit area and cabin. Full detail of the boat.
