Howdy!
Just joined the group, thought I'd check in and introduce myself.

Bought our first boat last year, 2004 SR 260DA. Love it. Love boating. Just one small down side - we have 5 kids and 3 dogs. Needless to say, that great vessel got REAL small, REAL QUICK!!!

We're having a 2000 Sea Ray 410EC (Cummins engines) surveyed this week. Sure it has the size we need, but *EGADS!!!* do I every have a lot to learn about boating. LOL

I am humbly joining the CSR group and am very much looking forward to reading and learning a lot from all of you folks! ... who know, we may even meet a few of you on the H20.
Over.
Jenn

Hi Jenn and welcome. Lots of information on 410's on the board. do a search and see what there is to read. Ask any specific or general questions and I am sure an answer will be short coming. Good luck with the search.

Hey Jenn.............. Welcome to the club.............and good luck with the survey.......hope it all works out.

Are you on the north or south side of Long Island ???

Welcome Aboard  . Post some pics of your boat in the virtual marina :smt024 .

Don- We're in Centerport, New York on the north shore. We keep the boat at West Shore Marina in Huntington.

Thanks for the warm welcomes... I'll keep ya'll posted on how we make out with the 410EC this week.

Welcome Jenn.

I grew up in south Huntington. My parents kept the boat at the Harbor Boating Club on West Shore Rd. Any chance that it's still there?

Welcome aboard Jenn
I am from Huntington and keep my boat in Centerport Harbor.
North Shore of LI is a great place for boating.

Don - Harbor Boating club is still going strong. You can check them out at www.harborboatingclub.net

Thanks, raffles. Nice site. I was interested in the history section, since my family actually participated in clubhouse remodeling in the 1960's.

From Long Island too.

Hi All,

I am from Long Island too, Huntington too, grew up here and never left. Although, I do launch mostly from the South Shore.

Just wondering, as you are docking at West Shore Marine, if you have used them for service/winter storage etc. and any opinions you may have to offer. Thanks

WSM winter storage/service

Raffles~
Last year was our first year at WSM. From the moment we met the folks there, we've had nothing but wonderful experiences.
Yes, we did service and winter store our boat there. All went very smoothly. We are very pleased.

WSM did a great job communicating with us, we knew exactly when the boat was coming in and out of the H20 as well as what our service options were. It was great to get the call this spring letting us know the vessel was in the water... drove right down, hopped on and started to enjoy the season!
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Jenn :)

Mumuv8,

Curious as to how long you waited to get into WSM?

We live in Huntington and last Sept. when we acquired a boat WSM had no openings and stated that there was a long wait so we went into Lindenhurst.

As Don mentioned we absolutely are thrilled with the whole south shore scene and this is coming from a guy who grew up in the early 70's on the water (Huntington, CSH, Northport).

Regards,

John
