we were in the ICW in Miami between Haulover and downtown.
Wow! Soooooo cool!
What speed were you going, 20 mph, 25? I think I typically go 27 to 30, and I think I need to slow down, a) to save gas!, and b) maybe dolphins will play in my wake??
they were around, so i slowed down to about 15 or so, hoping they would play and they did!
very cool - we've had them follow us through there, but never jump like that.....have you made it over to Bimini yet?
Rap on the side of your hull brings them in
They love slow moving waves that break so they can launch off the back side of the wave. Watch a big yacht or container ship making a bow wake with breaking water......watching them play in a breaking wake is almost a daily occurrence here. I've seen them "rocket" out of the water 8-10 ft.
That is a great video!! thanks for posting.
That’s a great video. Wish we had those guys around here.
When I was in the Navy we would sometimes be in places where they would play in our wake and it always drew a big crowd to the fantail.
ididntdoit, we haven't been across yet. there's so much to do in Miami and the Keys. I'm also waiting for my USCG documentation to be completed so I can sign up for the local boaters program so returning is just a phone call. hopefully all my paperwork is completed soon on my new boat.
