Hello,

I want to modernize my 2005 240SD with a touchscreen chartplotter. I'm installing a new JL radio in the location of the old remote head and it gave me the idea to put a screen over the middle gauge location that shows pressure, temperature, trim, and fuel level.

From reading other threads, it looks like I will need a nmea 2000 adapter to T into the engine harness. Will I be able to leave the other factory gauges there? What about depth? I'm hoping you guys can fill me on on all the other little gotchas to give me an idea on the full scope of this project.

That's going to be a relatively small screen. Are you sure you want to go through all the hassle? You could mount a larger unit on a RAM mount and not mess with any of the current stuff.

But, as you probably know (I would assume you know this, anyways), all of the information in the 4-in-1 gauge is already in your SC gauge. The 4-in-1 is just another way to show that info.
