I have always changed
My impellers every 2 years.
Question I have is:
I have always changed them while in the water and ran the boat right away afterwards to check for leaks, etc. Has anyone ever done this while boat was stored in a building for winter? Thoughts? Good or bad idea?

Shouldn’t matter imo, that’s the same engine in a lot of trailer boats….

I always changed mine on the trailer before launching. I did use a lot of soap so when it first started I would see a lot of bubbles.

That’s what I’m concerned about.
If soap would dry up while sitting in Storage. Then your startup at Spring launch would be running a dry impeller.

You could always assemble it with a vegetable oil if you are concerned about it drying up.

Thanks for all of the feedback Gentlemen!!
It was very helpful.
