I use zinc as a general term. We generally use magnesium anodes for the bottom and running gear but I have not seen them for the engines.
 
That's what I figured. I was referring to your 3 year old bottom zincs. Oops I meant bottom sacrificial anodes.

Not sure about your configuration but there are 11 anodes on my 3126’s.
5 in the aftercooler (4 on top, 1 on the side).
3 in the heat exchanger (2 on raw water pump side, 1 on the other side).
2 in oil cooler over the transmission.
1 in the exhaust elbow.

I buy mine in complete sets specifically for 3126 Caterpillar from BoatZincs.com
 
Awesome, thanks. That's where I buy mine. Where on top of the after cooler? Or are they not brass or painted red? For my convenience? Lol I've got all but the after cooler both port and starboard!

They are in 5/8” hex head stainless caps located in roughly the 4 corners of the aftercooler. There is access to them with the cover in place, but I usually remove the cover to change them. The 5th one is on the alternator side of the motor near the front of the motor. It’s threaded in from the side. Once you change the 4 on top you’ll recognize the 5th one.

Got em lol easiest one's to do. I could reach the starboard outboard exhaust elbow.
 
Lol exactly what I did. The lady at Walmart said the color will look good on me. I told her it for my Cats!
 
Funny I just was asked by my marina if I wanted mine repainted. It's a sticker kit. Just can't find the OEM kit for it

A local sign place should be able to get you the right color and width vinyl to use for a boot stripe.
Or, you can try HullStripes.com. They’re a forum vendor here and their ads should be coming up on some of the pages as you click around.

Not all vinyl is the same.
I know that Hull Stripes sells a good quality. My local sign guy can provide that grade too, but he has lesser grades available that he sells or uses for different things.
You probably want the good stuff.
