Hi, Thinking of going to Cedar Beach ( babylon) this weekend ( if Weather holds up ) This will be my First overnight stay in a boat. I feel like I am getting ready to go camping again. ( last camping trip 20 Years ago) I got all my Babylon permits for the Boat and my cars. I wonder if I can Drop my Car there overnight on the Bay or Ocean side.
Anyone know the VHF. Channel & Anything a "must" bring?
Thanks. John G.

Hey John, only thing i heard about Cedar is GO EARLY. I was told it can fill up fast. Have fun... I am in the works on getting a permit as well. Let me know how you made out!

YES.....Get there early on Friday.....some people even drop the boat off on Thursday......and pay for the extra night.

As far as dropping the car off......as long as you have the pass on the window......there's no problem. If you don't.....it could result in a ticket . What I've done in the past was.....have my wife follow me over ...drop my car off.......and then when I bring the boat over early...... I have transportation home.

Have fun..............maybe we'll see you there this weekend !!!

Is there any truth that you have to wait outside the inlet friday morning before 6am with your boat and contact the Cedar Beach folks by VHS to get a spot? Sounds wacky. JG

NONE.............Its on a first come first serve basic.....when you get to the Marina.....if there's a slip that you can fit in.......its yours ! ( unless its roped off )....but be considerate....the slips are marked " A " & " B "....A being for 13'+ beam boats ...B for 12' and under. Plus you have the " day " ( no water or electric ) floating slips on the west side of the Marina....for boats under 25'....All first come first serve.

On holiday weekends and when they have the " beach blast " party.....you may see guys floating....waiting for someone to pull out ....to get a slip.......but thats the only time.

Not sure if your aware of one of the rules ........

You can only stay ONE weekend at a time. In other words......you can get there on a Sunday ( after 3pm )......stay the entire week....the weekend.....and the entire next week.....BUT you have to leave on FRIDAY before noon......and stay out for at least 1 weekend. STRANGE but TRUE .

Its a great local ...cheap....place to stay. We like it because there is access by car ....and your not stranded....plus you get ....the beach....resturant....golf course.....events....etc.
