Just launched my boat for the year. My marina must not have done a very good job winterizing . I have a leak that is between the refrigerator and head of my 2003 340 , and the carpet in this area is wet. There is also a small pink stain in the carpet from the anti freeze.

The marina is making good on getting someone out to fix the leak, but I am concerned they won't be able to get the pink spot out of the carpet. I feel like they should be liable for this damage as it is obviously a result of their negligence.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? Is there anyway to get the stain out? If not, what are the odds of getting the marina to replace the damaged carpet?

Thanks for your input

Oh, and by the way, they put a 4ft scratch on my hull when they launched it. They at least had the decency to call that to my attention and agreed to fix. This boat was spotless until now.

Go to Lowe's find "Spot Shot" should be around the carpet area. That is the best stuff. The can's are blue and orange. Spray it and wipe it.

I buy it by the 6 pack from Lowe's for my condo and home. Between renters and my dog that product has been a carpet saver.

Spot shot is definatly the way to go... You can also find it at the grocery stores in my area.

Sorry to hear of the scuff....atleast they told you. That's why I have 3 fenders on each side when they pull and launch our 300 from our slip.

Here's how my 300 is tucked into storage...not much fenders can do for ya here

Can anyone say "SHOE HORN"

Just kidding. We all make concesions for storing our babies....

They actually get out a big pail of vasaline and apply it to the rub rails with a 4 inch paint brush. Then they get a run for it and back'er in. When the last boat goes in...the walls buckle a little!

Seriously, there was about 8 inches between the boats on each side. Enought to squeeze my buffer in there to get on a good coat of wax.

Thanks for all your responses, I'll give Lowes a try. If it get's the pink stuff out, will let you know.

another great product readily available is RESOLVE.

Holy Smokes! I've never seen them crammed that tight... they must have a lift operator with nerves of steel...

Resolve does good work too, we used to use it as before we found the spot shot. Used it last night on chair that got dropped in a move and had black grease on it. Couple of sprays and wiped right off.

UPS guy rolled his hand truck through the mud and into my office. sprayed the tracks with resolve, let it sit a minute or two, vacuumed the area, stepped on a couple of paper towels to absorb the excess moisture - dried mud stains GONE!

BTW, anyone use one of those bissell steam cleaner vacuums? any good? i borrowed one from my mother-in-law and was going to give it a try on the boat.

We bought one of the small Bissell steam cleaners just for the boat. Works well.

whoops, sorry. it's a hoover. but it ROCKS! took it down today and did the whole interior. looks brand new and took maybe 15 minutes. spent more time waiting for the hot water heater to get me some good, hot tap water!

Not sure, Bissell, Hoover, whatever.
Looks like a little R2D2, but it does a great job....

Simple Green,

but might not be strong enough. I had a lot of stains on my snap ins. Yesterday I used liberal amounts of water, some simple green and a stiff brush and they came right out. Might be worth a try.
