Good Afternoon,

I am in need of replacement marine carpet for the cockpit of my 1996 Sundancer 250. I still have the old carpet that can be used for the template. Has anyone had any success with a paricular company in having the replacement carpet made up with snaps and binding? If so, please let me know.

Thanks,

snapincarpet.com

They did mine and did a great job. Get the upgraded backing.

Have the same problem -we just bought a 2000-310 Sundancer without the cockpit carpet. Called local MarineMax and was told that if we had the old carpet for a template, we could order direct thru Sea Ray. Without it we'd have to go locally. Hope this helps. - Nancy

Go local or the snaps will never match up.

Snapincarpet.com ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have the template for your boat I know for a fact because they did my '95 250DA last year. I had them do the SeaRay Prefered Burber with the dark sunbrella binding. It looks fantastic. The snaps are sent to you in a bag, you install if you want to assure that they match. I chose not to install mine. They can also make a small piece to lay in the "Step Well" to the cabin. I just layed mine in there but it covers the crud-catch-all. Give them a shout. Mine was about $550.00 delivered..

Lt. Dan,

Did you shop around at all?? I got a quote from them due to all of the positive references I have seen on this board, and usually go with what others say. Just wondering if their pricing is in line as well.

I checked a few local vendors but I had 3 good references from dock mates and I got to see the finished product before I purchased. Snap-in was competetive in price and I will never use anyone else from here forward... They did a great job:thumbsup::smt038

I recommend going with anyone other than the factory. You will get a longer lasting carpet if it has the rib backing, known as AquaLoc. You can also get it customized by simply making a paper template, so you can get a better fitting boat mat. Often you can get free step mats made from the scraps too. Call around as you might be able to get a price match or lower.

From the prices and product I've seen from Snapincarpets.com, I think I'll use them next season for the Cockpit carpet. I got a quote from them for my boat in Oct or Nov and if I recall correctly it was $475 for the 3 pieces I have

I'm going though the same thing. I called the Sea Ray dealer in the area and got the price for material, its $32.00 per yard, my boat (400EC) requires 11 Yards. Using the old carpet for a template you can cut new mats.
Then you need to find someone to do the binding. And the snaps you have to do them yourself anyway. This way you can make some customized changes if you like, and then use the waste for a dock mat or for the swim platform. Peter

Great feed back, I am going to the Snapin site to see if they can help. Doing a bit of a color change in my 1996 220 OV.
