Looking to replace cockpit carpet and have narrowed it down to these three colors. Canvas is black but hesitant to go too dark. In our 320 we had the tan color and even that got pretty warm/hot in the sun. Hard to make a decision from tiny samples so curious what others have done with similar color scheme on the boat.

Had dark blue on a blue trim boat, dark red on a dark red gel coat boat, burned feet with both, now we have no carpet and happy, keep a mat by transom door to wipe feet when coming from swim platform. I don’t miss the carpet.

Now that’s funny cause after I got boat and decided to not replace carpet I put in all new snaps in floor so they nice and shiny. Cheaper than new carpet.

I like the darker colors but I have light tan with black stripes and it gets hot in the sun. It is only on the days when the sun is blazing but sometimes I have to wet the cockpit floor so we can walk on it. The bridge is fine because it is mostly in the shade. I would go with the lightest one of the three for that reason.

When we replaced the carpet after we bought or 44DB 3-4 years ago, went with the tan colored Berber. Never ever got hot. This time we went with silver/gray/black PVC weave same as Blueone maybe one shade lighter in color. Too early to tell how hot it gets. The Berber carpet will be miles cooler than the SeaDek/AquaDek or the PCV weaves. Downside is upkeep and staining.....Just my $0.02.

Funny that looks pretty light wouldn’t think it would get that hot.

They are all from snap in carpet it’s more of a gray I would say. It’s their “seagrass”.

I am tempted to go back to the Berber but don’t want to worry about putting it away when it rains.

The Berber is the easiest on the feet and never gets hot. When it gets wet it does take it longer to dry but the backing Corinthian uses today is far superior to anything in the past. Either way, you will not go wrong.

We did Berber a second time and lasted a half a summer....it gets a musty smell very quick...within the first year... we got rid of it and will never go back

I believe mine is the same as Jeremy's (tan with black stripes) and it gets hot. I would definitely go with the lightest color of your liking.

I also had the aqua weave it does get hot but at least you can wet it down it dries out without getting mildew

Has anyone tried using Velcro instead of snaps?

My new carpet from Corinthian has the Velcro tabs sewn to the carpet. I have not “stuck” it down yet as it fits really tight and does not move.

On our 44DB, I had Velcro on the Berber on the steps to the bridge. Could not have worked better.
