I am changing out the carpet in my 1994 330 sundancer. Before I start, a few questions.

1. Do I have to take the steps apart?

2. Where do I get a good quality carpet?

3. What type of glue should I use?

4. Am I crazy for doing this myself?

Thank you for your help.

John

I removed mine myself ..... Never again after renting a machine from HD it still took me 7 hours non stop to get it up. What ever glue they use after 15 years still worked.
replaced with a great pad and top quality residential no stain carpet with a professional installer and it is perfect. Also humidity has no effect on it.

Sea Ray does a exellent job on glueing the carpet. I made myself a scrapper out of 1 inch square tubing and a 1/8 X 3 inch stainless plate. took about 2 hours to rip carpet out.
I personally wouldn't go for carpet again that's why I went for the Allure vinyl flooring from Home Depot. I did this in my old boat and again in this one. very easy to clean and 100 % waterproof. I didn't glue it in place only put a few strips of double sided tape here and there. Here are a few pics of flooring and tool. The photos doesnt really justify the real colour as when looking in reality.

I could give you a hand Breadman and help you out but from here Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to your place is a long drive

They get big money to do boat carpeting around here. I'd like to do mine, but prices are crazy and after asking around, I don't think it's something I want to tackle myself.
We have a carpet guy who we have been using in the house for years. He sells and installs himself. I asked him if he would do it and he told me he would have to charge me too much and would really rather not do it. He said he did it for customers years ago and it is just way too much work.
He's a good guy and what he told me kind of scared me off.
