I started to look to buy a carburettor rebuild kit for my Mercruiser 3.0L and I cannot believe how many are out there and the massive price difference to.
Okay I grab the idea that most are Chinese but no doubt the Quicksilver ones will be made in China like so much of their branded parts.
So my question is, how do we sort the wheat from the chaff to get a useable kit at a reasonable price?

You would be wrong on that assumption. The Quicksilver/Mercury kit is made in the USA (from a true Merc dealer, anyways). Spend the $95 on it and be done with it :)

Here in Greece it's not that easy to find genuine parts, this is what I am up against with a search.

Over 200€ difference for probably the same unbranded kit. I have sent emails out to see if I can readily get a genuine OM kit but if this fails I have a choice of RecMar or Sierra as an aftermarket brand. If I ordered from the States it could cost me anywhere upwards of 300€ with shipping and taxes, not to mention the time customs would take to process. Any pointers would be welcome
