Captains seat - no flip up bolster - seated position height options?

Thanks, Woody. But (I should of been more clear, originally) I wonder if it's OK to sit on it while underway?

Ok, I'll chime in with some real-world experience. :smt001 I have personally been hailed to stop twice by the U.S.C.G over the last 6 years in my 175 bowrider. Both times I was sitting on all three of those cushions. And both times I passed full inspection, and never heard a mention of those throwables being right there, even as I pointed them out to them when they asked to display a Type IV PFD.

That, together with the regulations posted, seems like enough to not sweat it if you do.

I know personally, I'd rather sit on the cushions than not be able to see a big 'ole log floating in the water dead ahead.

Tom

...it is not against any Coast Guard regs to sit on your type iv throwable. The regulation is that you must have at least one on board and immediately available on deck.

You can hold me to it...I am a law enforcement officer and pilot small boats for the USCG. Any other questions about boating regs feel free to PM me.

Thank you. It's good to have you on board, here. How did you hear about this forum?

Thanks. Heard about it through Sea Ray after i bought my boat. ...good stuff here to gain knowledge as most of mine is with the boats i pilot for work.

I've had the same problem of finding a great alternative to give the extra height without buying new seats or sitting on misc items.

Check out this new product: www.bolsterbuddy.com

Multi use and easy to store.

Don't click on link. Reported as possible spam. At the time of my writing this post, the poster had two posts and they are the same thing.

I have been looking for a product to give me additional height while driving my boat but could never find anything that I liked so when I saw the Bolster Buddy link I was so happy I clicked on it, liked what I saw and ordered the product without doing any other research. (I will not be doing that again)

My heart sank when I started to read the following post that it could be a spammer which my email provider also questioned upon receiveing the email order confirmation. It also stated that they were out of stock and it could be 3-4 weeks before delivery.

My suspicions started growing and a few days later another email was sent with a tracking number that I did not open thinking it could lead to more trouble. However within days the package showed up at my home and the product looked great it even matched my boats interior!

I am looking forward to giving it a test on the water and if it performs the way it looks I will be really happy.

Also I paid a flat $10 fee for shipping but the actual cost was over $18 dollars that they took care off themselves.

I hope that I don't encounter any spamming issues but for now I am a satisfied customer.

Not sure why you wouldn't.... he signed up for the board and this was his first post he must really like it! ;)

Bolster Buddy is not a SPAM site, it's a legitimate product.

After returning from Afghanistan, I bought a 92 Larson All American and soon tired of sitting on shifting objects. After searching and finding nothing out there, I filed a patent, lined up a manufacture, here in Minnesota and started bringing Bolster Buddy to the market this past Spring.

Some mail servers may be indicating possible SPAM since I'm replying with an e-mail address starting with "info". I've since went to the trusted source website to get my website categorized properly. My apologies for anyone inconvenienced by the possibility of Spam.

I'm a veteran trying to bring what I feel is a needed product, to the market. I am currently working with Overton's and Fleet Farm to get the product more widely distributed.

Shipping is now free.
