My rip off shrink wrap day is about 4 to 5 weeks away i intend to splash early this year luckily here in the northeast we have not seen any snow (thats just fine with me hope i didn't jinx it)
Stop down at the boat to check her out to find the yard already painted the bottom. Don't know what their rush is, But it does fit in to my plans for splashing early. Would you know if the early painting will have any effect on the paints purpose?

You know....it's posts like this that lead to delayed, soggy and cold springs!!! This is akin to saying something like "you know, everything on my boat seems to be working right now". :) ha.

SHHHHHH! You’ll jinx us and March will see 5 snow storms!!! You know how it is on Long Island!

Check the paint you will use. Some have a maximum time before splashing. Some don’t. The cooler weather will impact the cure time for sure.

I’ll be getting back from a cruise vacation on Sunday 3/15. My usual target date for shrinkwrap removal is St. Patrick’s Day so I’m ready to splash in the first week of April.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there won’t be snow in the forecast that week.
Trying to coordinate getting my bulkhead replaced before I splash too.
    Hopefully it all comes together.

Just got my new to me 360DA in mid October so spring can’t come soon enough. Having the electronics replaced and the maintenance issues that came up on the survey done. I’m scheduled to splash early this year on Apr 1st. Also keeping the snowblower ready!

This is the second winter in a row that I haven’t had to use the snowblower, or shovel that crap.
My wife isn’t happy because she likes the way the snow looks.
I tell her that she would see things differently from the business end of a shovel.

Congratulations and good luck with the new boat!
As much as I’m starting to really hate living on Long Island these last few years, the one great thing about it is the boating.

Thanks. The boating is the best thing about Long Island for me as well. Maybe we’ll see you over the summer - We’re at the Anchorage.

BTW, the snow only looks good the first day!

Anchorage is a good place and in a great location
My dock property is about a mile west of there on the Venice Canal.

I’ve had my 98 Grady White 260 Chase on the high and dry there for 10 years but it’s been years since we had a boat in a slip and we’re looking forward to it. We go to Hemlock usually one day each weekend and to FI or Bayshore for dinner most weeks so the location works for us.

I have a 86 390 EC and was wondering if you put on anodes to the shaft and tabs?

    thanks for reply,
It is a boat I just received a few months ago and starting the process of cleaning it up and doing some repairs.
Pulling it up next few weeks to be painted and looking now at paints and anodes. Some people saying Sea Ray doesnt need but at this age thinking best to play safe.

The big transom zinc for sure!
My rudders (no holes drilled) have never had zincs in them.
The service guys at the MarineMax where I bought my boat told me that there is no need for zincs on my shafts and that Sea Ray didn’t put them on the boats when they were new.
I called Sea Ray at the time (3 years ago) and confirmed it.
I was using a full rudder zinc on the tabs (top and bottom) until Bennett told me that they only need half of one and that it should be mounted on the top of the tab.
I’ve followed both Sea Ray and Bennett’s advice and so far, so good.
