Have a 97 250DA with a vaccuflush & macerator - Not sure of the exact sequence of operation. Do I just dump the chemicals for the bad water through the "waste" fill on the side of the boat? How much do you put in there?

Does the macerator run automatically?

I do not have a manual for this & thought someone might be able to simplify the operation for me.

Also in the head there is a key switch, Does this just show how full the waste tank is?

Hey Lance, not sure about the vacuflush part, but the key switch should be for the macerator/overboard dump.

The key actually turns the system on in the head. Turn the switch on at the panel, and then the key to the 1st position and your vaccuflush will work.

The key also runs the macerator but should not be used since you are on inland waters. In fact unless it is a saltwater boat odds are you don't have a mecerator or it is disabled. If you truly do have a mecerator than at a minimum you need to zip tie the sea cock closed to avoid a fine from the CG. As an FYI, if there is a mecerator, the key sort of works like a car ignition. Turn it past the 1st position and hold like you are starting a car.

We use a liquid for the holding tank. Just pour it in the head and flush.

If you need a manual you can get a pdf from the dometic website. Search for Sealand vacuflush manual. In SW Michigan you can go to Wolf's in Benton Harbor for parts. I keep a seal set and duckbills in the cabinet in the head for when I need them next. It's only a matter of when not if you will need them.

Thanks for the input, i will double check the macerator. when I turn the key one spot clockwise some sort of pump is running, Second spot to the right does nothing. How long & when does the key need to be turned on and what is it doing?

The first position turns the vacuum pump on, it should run for a shirt while then stop if everything is sealed OK, then the head will 'pop' when you flush it. It will run for a bit again after you flush it and stop when it builds up enough vacuum.

The second position turns the macerator/overboard discharge pump on (if equipped), if you have a large seacock with a hose leading to waste tank then you have the overboard discharge. As mentioned, if you have overboard discharge the seacock should be wired shut if you are on a inland lake/river. Mine is newer and has a awitch on the seacock that wont let the overboard pump run unless the seacock is open. I never tried the overboard since I'm on a lake, my key switch is frozen and wont go past the number 1 position anyhow, plus the seacock is safety wired shut with some kind of seal so I leave it alone.
