I just did all my teak and after pulling off all the blue masking tape I have quite a bit of tape residue and some teak guard drips. Is it ok to use acetone to remove it or should I use something else. I used acetone on a small spot for a test and it worked(but not too well) and getting enough white on the rag that was worried and figured I should ask.

Acetone works well for that. Oddly enough, I was doing the same thing today one of my 300's. After you are done wash the area clean. It will also probably remove the wax there too so you'll need to re-wax.

If you're boat is oxidized, that's probably the white that you are seeing. Acetone won't hurt your gel, but it can dull the appearance. It can buff back to a shine easy enough, but there are other products that won't do that. One such product is Good Off.

Acetone work great to remove the plastic dock guard scrapes on your gelcoat. You know, the beige or black streaks after rubbing against the dock.
