Traded off the last one just 9 months ago and bought an '06 Silverton 36 Convertible. We spend every weekend on the boat 6 months of the year and just needed something bigger. We are in Davenport, IA and take a trip up to the St. Croix near Minneapolis each summer.

Do I have to go away now?

Well, if SBW 1, Kenpcfl, MichaelNJ and a host of other non-SR guys on this board are an indication, I'd venture to say no.
Sure, this is a Sea Ray board, but I think that for all of us our love of boating with our families, and the desire to share knowledge to make the experience safer and more enjoyable, transcends the brand.

Hey Brian my first boat was a '89 200 br (4.3lx A1 - green & white ).....had lots of fun on it !

Stick around Brian. You're wealth of Sea Ray knowledge will be very helpfull. Besides, you won't find a better boating forum on the net than CSR.

Welcome aboard....other points of views are always welcome...as is a beer or two....you know.....on the new guy...

Six SeaRays, and one Silverton- yeh I'd say you are welcome here!
Besides, we want to see what boat EIGHT will be.

Oh there have been others too!

Checkmate 25' w/ 454 mag.
Mark Twain 200 Bow Rider
Searay Laguna 16' w/ 60hp Merc. (now for sale)
Zodiac 14' w/ Yamaha 50 hp 4-stroke (just bought it last week)

And about three various aluminum boats by Lund, Lowe and Polarcraft.

I have likely spent way too much hard earned money on boats in my 45 years but it is all my dad's fault when he bought our first Sea King boat when I was 5. I do almost all my own maintenance and repairs and have learned a lot from friends and forums.

Thanks for the kind welcome, you guys have quite a site going here!

That Zodiac with the 50 Yamaha -4stroke sounds sweet..... What's that one for just plain fun? Is that your dingy? What's that weight with the 4-stoke as they tend to weigh more than 2 strokes.

I figure it is right at 900 lbs. with fuel and gear. We tow it behind the Silverton and use it to go back to our harbor for supplies, pick up guests and take the 50 lb. yellow lab to do her business. It is a little larger than what most people would want for a tender but the people we boat with have the same boat and it works out great. This size gives a very secure feeling even if it is a little rough. I have a 16' Searay Laguna that we used for these chores but the inflatable boat is much easier to have along. We lock through frequently and you can just pull the Zodiac up short to the oposite side you are tying to in the lock and not have to worry about hanging fenders.

Brian-

Welcome on board! Looks like you have had your fair share or SeaRays. If you have a chance love to see some shots of the new convertible. Congrats!
