I just got an 06 320 Sundancer, so I'm sure I will need a lot of help and advise from the rest of you.
My first issue is the carpeting. For years the carpet has been protected by a snap-in cover. I'm sure it's standard for all Sea Rays. I have removed the cover, and would like to have the carpet without the cover. However, after all this time, the carpet is matted to where it's almost rock solid.
My thought is to get a professional carpet cleaning company to clean the carpet with their machine that will inject cleaner into the carpet and then vacuum the water. I would hope this will not only clean the carpet to the best it can be, but also bring back the nap so it will be nice to walk on.
Is this the best way to bring the carpet back to life?

I would agree with cleaning it but you need a carpet fluffer. Google it, we have one for our Kirby and it really stands the carpet back up. Kirby vacuums can be had for 50.00 on Craigslist these days

Are you talking about the carpet in the cabin? If so, mine also gets matted down. I clean it each spring with one of those small Bissell carpet cleaners. The stiff bristles of the brush do a nice job of restoring the nap of the carpet. It's not perfect, but a big improvement.

I'd bet the carpet is pretty dirty even with the carpet runner. I'm always amazed at how much dirt the cleaner extracts. You could try a "carpet rake" as well.
