Camper Top

The camper top is the best thing we ever did to our 340 DA.

Makes the cockpit area feel huge, makes the boat enjoyable in all weather. We anchored out last weekend, and we were warm!

Cost about $4500, worth every penny!

Gmathes- where did you get the camper top for your 340? Was there any trouble attaching to the same zipper as the slant back canvas since the camper top is at a different angle? Could you post some more pictures of it?

Curtis Camp in Caroina Beach, NC, made the custom camper.

He built zippers into the soft top, so we can still attach the stock

canvas if we want to.

These are representative photos. Well worth the cost!

If you order the top and it's being custom made, you may want to opt for the Seamark type Sunbrella. From what I understand, it's more resistant to the molding that occurs to the inside surfaces. My last boat (a pontoon boat) had the opposite, fabric inside and plastic out, and it wasn't very good, and I did get mold on the inside surface. It also doesn't need a yearly waterproofing treatment that regular Sunbrella does.

I have a full camper on my 340 and I love it. It's a must for year round boating if it gets cold where you are. Keeping it clean isn't difficult. Soap and water whenever you wash the boat and hit it with Plexus a couple of times a year. We remove the camper isenglass in the summer. The extended bimini keeps the skin cancer at bay.

if anyone gets a camper canvas and wants to get some $$ for their fastback, we're trying to scout one out (tan)
