Camper Canvas for 180 Bow Rider

That full enclosure looks like a great idea. I only have 175 though. May look out of proportion. Speaking of bimini tops. The one my boat came with had a bout with the garage opening. Anyone know where I could get a new one. The canvas is fine, but the frame has met it's end. I got my boat from Marine Max and they said it would be around $550-$600. Anything out there less than that.

Also, does that enclosure just zipe onto the OEM bimini top? (after installing the zippers)

Thanks

Yes. There is a trick to it to make it fairly easy, the canvas folks can show you how to install. I also learned that is you are going to install in cold weather, at least in my case, that stuff shirnks when cold, you may not get all of the snaps fastened, just let it hang a little while, especially if the sun is shining and all will be well, or just lay it out in the sun for a little while, either will work.

Took the camper canvas out for a trial this weekend. It installed (On the water) in about 5 minutes total. It was only about 45 degrees outside and the vinyl windows let a lot of sun in for warmth. I know you are only supposed to use these docked or anchored, but I had to try:) I cruised around for a while at about 5 mph and 1500 rpm. Everything looked good and not stressed so I took it up on plane around 15 to 20 mph into a slight breeze. There was definite wind push on the area above the front windshield, but nothing major. I took it up to 25 mph with no problems and cruised for about a half hour at 17 mph. I found that if you unzip the front middle window section about an inch, it will allow small amount of air to be forced into the interior which has the effect of inflating the interior. It seems to make it even more stable and provides a small amount of ventilation. All in all, I was impressed with the stability of the top and being able to move at a plane speed without problem. I wouldn't recommend planing speed into any kind of wind, but it is nice to know you can run the full top OK.

Scott,
Just a heads up, make sure you keep the positive air flow going when you have your top up. Did you get a CO detector for the boat? We use out camper all winter on our 240SD, really extends the boating season to year round.
Side issue you may want to update your signature section with your boat info.

Its probably just like a tonneau cover on a truck. bring it in the house and let it warm up before you put it on. Works like a charm!

You are right, you can also lay it in the sun for a little while, Anything to warm it up just a little. I have laid it out in the back yard on the grass in the sun for about 30 minutes and put it on.
